Sorrells
Lynda Sorrells, a Little Rock native, has enjoyed her career as an artist for the past 10 years. She has studied painting with private instruction from Ellan McKenzie, Barry Thomas, Arden Boyce, Robert Moore and Guido Frick. She has also studied pastel with Suzie Patton at "The Mansion" in Little Rock, and portrait painting with Olivita Goulsby.
Lynda paints a variety of subjects in oil, including landscapes around her beloved cabin on the Little Red River in Pangburn, Arkansas, to landscapes in the Snowmass area of Colorado and many other exotic locations where she has traveled extensively with her husband Barry. Her favorite subject is figurative painting. She often uses her 5 grandchildren and other family members, including her two Golden Retrievers, in her paintings.
During the last two years she has focused on developing her own unique style of capturing both color and light coupled with spontaneous wide strokes and thick application of paint.
Lynda is a member of the Arkansas League of Artists and the Arkansas Art Center.
